In a first-of-its kind marketing mash-up, the Peruvian Avocado Commission, World Avocado Organization, and California Avocado Commission recently partnered to sponsor the launch of the first-ever Michelin Restaurant Guide for California. The newest Michelin Star awardees were announced at a “Star Revelation” gala on June 3rd in Huntington Beach, and Avocados from Peru were honored to become the first agricultural organization included in this momentous event.

Since avocados are a top, trending restaurant menu ingredient, it only made sense that PAC would join forces with the world’s leading avocado industry organizations to be part of the new guide and recognizing top California restaurants. Chefs awarded Michelin Stars during the Revelation event also received an “Avocado Star” tribute created by Colette Dike of Fooddeco, Holland, while deliciously innovative avocado-inspired recipes and avocado beer and margaritas were served.

The Michelin Guide was first introduced in 1900 in France, and has since become a beacon of fine dining. The new Michelin Guide of California marks an unprecedented expansion, as the first regional guide of the United States. It includes restaurants in greater Los Angeles, Monterey, Orange County, Sacramento, San Diego, and Santa Barbara.
