During summer 2019, Avocados from Peru teamed up with some of the world’s most iconic brands, including the New York Jets, FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Michelin Guide and more.

AFP was the official broadcast sponsor of the FOX Network’s coverage of the 2019 Women’s World Cup in June and July, won by Team USA. Twenty-four teams from around the world were invited to France to compete in the tournament, a month-long competition that occurs every four years.

AFP was also a sponsor of Major League Baseball’s first games in London, when the New York Yankees played the Red Sox on June 29th and 30th. Likewise, AFP sponsored the 2019 edition of the All-Star Game in Cleveland, Ohio on July 9th.

Not long after, AFP served as a founding member of the first-ever World Avocado Cup Regatta in San Diego on July 13 and 14. This unique event, created by the World Avocado Organization and the San Diego Yacht Club, featured a series of races in which participating avocado-producing countries were represented by a sailboat featuring their respective logos on the sails, spinnaker and crew gear.

In another first, AFP served with the World Avocado Organization and California Avocados as official sponsor of the inaugural edition of the Michelin Restaurant Guide for California. The newest Michelin Star awardees were announced at a gala on June 3 in Huntington Beach, and AFP were honored to be the first agricultural organization included in this momentous event.

Finally, for the upcoming New York Jets partnership, fans will be able to enjoy complimentary AFP toppings at MetLife Stadium concessions and even an avocado-themed cooking class at the Jets Cooking School. Topping off the delicious collaboration, AFP and the NYJ will vie for the “largest bowl of guacamole” world record at the Jets home opener on September 8th.
